The Hunt Prize 2026: Applications Opening Soon

The Hunt Prize returns in 2026, marking its fifth year of celebrating emerging design talent at Curtin University. Over the years, the prize has evolved—first recognising architecture students, then last year shining a spotlight on interior architecture. Now, in this milestone year, the prize opens to both disciplines, reflecting the growth of our Interiors team and our commitment to supporting the full spectrum of design.

The Hunt Prize is a scholarship specifically designed for third-year students at Curtin University who not only excel academically but also pursue interests outside the University that enhance their design skills. The award provides:

  • A paid internship with Hunt Architects, offering hands-on experience in real-world projects.
  • $10,000 in prize money to support educational and professional development.
  • The chance to learn from a leading team of architects and interior designers, gaining insight into the collaborative process of shaping meaningful, sustainable spaces.

Last year, Sam, a third-year Interior Architecture student at Curtin University, was recognised for his thoughtful approach to design and his genuine interest in creating sustainable, considered spaces. Building on that, the 2026 Hunt Prize now welcomes applications from students in both Architecture and Interior Architecture.

The Hunt Prize aims to help students transition from academic studies into successful careers in architecture and interior design, bridging the gap between theory and practice while recognising exceptional talent. Applications for the 2026 Hunt Prize will open soon, with the recipient to be announced next year. Students are encouraged to keep a close eye on Hunt Architects communications and Curtin University updates for details on how to apply.
