We’re grateful to Penka and Lendis for their generosity and insight, to Suzie for guiding such a lively and engaging discussion, and to everyone who joined us on the night. It’s this sense of community—open, inclusive, and curious—that sits at the heart of the Parlour Salon series, and we were proud to help bring it to life again in Perth.

Conversations Across Continents & Cultures: Inside the Parlour Perth Autumn Salon
Last Thursday evening, our Perth studio came alive with conversation, connection, and a shared passion for architecture as we hosted the Parlour Perth Autumn Salon for the second year running. Welcoming those emerging and established across the built environment and beyond, the event brought together practitioners, students, and curious minds for an engaging discussion. It was especially rewarding to see such a strong turnout once again—proof of the growing appetite in Perth for spaces that foster open dialogue across experience levels and disciplines.
Hosted by Suzie Hunt, the evening centred around a thoughtful exchange with guest speakers Penka Parova and Lendis Golic. Drawing on careers that span continents and cultures, Penka and Lendis offered rich perspectives on practice, adaptability, and the many pathways through architecture. Their conversation wove together personal experience with broader industry reflections.
Parlour, the organisation behind the Salon series, is a research-based advocacy group working to improve gender equity in architecture and the broader built environment. Through events, research, and publishing, Parlour creates space for discussion, supports underrepresented voices, and promotes meaningful change across the profession. Their work is grounded in both rigorous research and active community-building, helping to broaden opportunities and reshape how architectural practice is understood and experienced.
