The Hunt Prize 2026: Applications Now Open

We’re proud to continue our long-standing partnership with Curtin University in supporting the next generation of talent in both Architecture and Interior Architecture. The Hunt Prize for Architecture | Interior Architecture, a $10,000 award that has been a long-standing industry initiative by Hunt Architects. The prize recognises and encourages students who not only excel academically but also broaden their understanding of architecture and design through experiences beyond the classroom.

This year was particularly special, as our very first Hunt Prize recipient to become a full-time member of our team, Sanjita Ghimire, joined Mark Young, our Director and Managing Principal, in presenting the award to the School of Built Environment at Curtin University.

The Hunt Prize for Architecture | Interior Architecture will be awarded to:

  • Interior Architecture: A student who has completed the 3rd year of the Interior Architecture course and is continuing into the 4th year Honours degree.
  • Architecture: A student who has completed the Bachelor of Applied Science in Architecture and is continuing into the 4th and 5th years of the Master of Architecture degree.

In both cases, the prize will be awarded to the student who, in the opinion of the selectors, has excelled in both quantitative and qualitative terms during their 3rd year of study.

The prize is for the student that not only does well academically but also successfully pursued interests outside the University that has either directly or indirectly enhanced their (a) interior / architecture / design skills, (b) appreciation and understanding of the role that architecture or interior architecture plays in shaping the social and physical shape of our communities.

Interior Architecture students eligible for this prize must commit to undertaking 4th year of the Interior Architecture honours course at Curtin University. The total prize of $10,000 will be paid in two instalments. $5,000 will be paid at the commencement of your 4th year of study and the remaining $5,000 on completion of the honours degree.

Architecture students eligible for this prize must commit to undertaking 4th and 5th year of the Master of Architecture course at Curtin University. The total prize of $10,000 will be paid in two instalments of $5,000 at the commencement of each year.

In addition, to be eligible for this prize, the student should be available to accept an intern position at Hunt Architects during the summer break. Following this their may be an opportunity for ongoing work during the 4th year term time.
