An Elegant Structure at Pendle Hill, Merging Japanese Design Influences with Modern Materials to Foster Tranquility
Hermans Tasting Room Pavilion is an architectural addition that navigates the interplay between movement and stillness, urban density and openness, drawing inspiration from the traditional Japanese tea house. The design achieves a delicate balance between lightness and permanence, embracing material authenticity and a deep sensitivity to its context.
Subtle transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces invite visitors to engage with the environment, fostering a sense of tranquility and contemplation.Anchored by a concrete-formed base, the structure unfolds through laminated veneer lumber (LVL) cross-bracing, a modular LVL roofing grid, and steel roofing sheets, ensuring resilience while fostering a sense of openness.
