Armadale’s New Hub of Learning

In collaboration with the City of Armadale, the project is due for completion in 2024. The facility will be an integral part of the community, providing a dynamic space for learning, creativity, and connection.

The Piara Waters Library will be conveniently located on the same site as the Piara Waters Pavilion. This strategic placement creates a seamless connection between the library and the existing sports facility, forming a cohesive community hub that caters to a wide range of interests and activities. Spanning over 1000sqm, the library is designed with the community in mind. It’s a place where residents of all ages can come together.

One of the standout architectural features are external pivoting walls that are fixed to the window openings on the southern façade. This allows an abundance of natural light to flood the interior when in the opened position. Furthermore, plans are in place to collaborate with artists who will transform the internal surfaces of these walls into expressions of creativity, adding a unique touch to the library’s atmosphere.

Computer & Study Zone
Access to public computers and electronic resources will further enhance learning opportunities for library visitors, promoting digital literacy and research capabilities. There are dedicated spaces for focused learning, group projects, and quiet contemplation.

Library Wing
The library wing offers a variety of book storage and seating options. The children’s learning area is visually stimulating, designed to encourage creativity, play, and education. Adjacent to the book storage area, two multi-functional meeting rooms with an operable wall can be adapted for presentations, study groups, or meetings

Youth Area
Designed to engage and empower local youth, this space features a creative room, gaming zone, stage, computing area, and a flexible meeting room. Its a space where young people can find inspiration, stimulate their curiosity, and take ownership of their community.

As we eagerly await its completion in 2024. We’re optimistic of the benefits this facility will provide to the residence of Armadale and its surrounds.
