Aboriginal Engagement and Community-Led Design
Community engagement has been central to the project’s development, with MCG Architects & Hunt Ardchitects leading a long-term, collaborative process alongside SWAMS and key stakeholders. This included detailed consultation with user groups and on-Country engagement, guided by cultural consultancy Brave & Curious.
The design is deeply informed by Connection to Country and local Noongar narratives, including the three rivers converging ithin this area. Cultural protocols, privacy, and inclusivity have been carefully embedded in the layout, ensuring the facility provides culturally safe, welcoming, and flexible spaces that encourage both appointment-based and informal access to healthcare.

Collaboration and Delivery
Hunt Architects worked in close collaboration with MCG Architects throughout the development of the project, supporting the evolution of the original concept and contributing to stakeholder engagement, design refinement, and documentation. This collaborative approach ensured continuity with the project’s long-standing vision while responding to contemporary healthcare needs and community expectations.
