Hunt Architects is pleased to be the Project Architect for one of the new multi-deck car parks being built as part of the New Women and Babies Hospital Project in collaboration with Georgiou Group and the State Government. The car park will support future growth in and around the Fiona Stanley Hospital precinct as it becomes home to the new Women and Babies Hospital. It is located at the intersection of Winch Way and Jennalup Street and will provide around 1,500 bays over six levels. It is scheduled for completion in mid-2027.   The new Women and Babies Hospital is set to expand services and choice for women, newborns and families, replacing the century-old King Edward Memorial Hospital. The New Women and Babies Hospital Project is expected to create more than 1,400 jobs during construction and provide opportunities for local suppliers and contractors.

Integration of Public Art
Beyond its functional role, the designs have connected to country through the integration of the public artwork Balga Kaditjin Koora Yeyi. Created by artists Mark Datodi and Whadjuk Noongar artist Dr Barbara Bynder, the artwork celebrates Noongar culture. Inspired by the Balga (grass tree), a symbol of resilience, healing and continuity, the artwork will be expressed across the façade through three connected elements — the Balga trunk, flower and grove — representing stories of culture, belonging and intergenerational connection.
