What interests you the most about our industry, Boris?
“What continues to drive my passion for architecture is the process of turning ideas into built form. As an architect, I thrive on the technical side of the industry—taking a design concept and making it work in the real world. This involves balancing design intent with constructability, compliance, budget, and timelines. It’s complex, challenging, and incredibly rewarding. I enjoy collaborating closely with consultants, builders, and suppliers to resolve details and ensure that what gets built matches the vision. There’s something uniquely satisfying about walking through a completed building and knowing every decision behind it.”
What is a topic that you’re invested in right now, Boris?
“Lately, I’ve been focused on buildability —specifically, how we as architects can work more closely with contractors and suppliers early in the process to reduce rework, manage risks, and deliver better project outcomes. I’m also invested in how digital documentation and coordination tools, like BIM, and model-based workflows, are changing how we deliver projects. These tools, can reduce site clashes, improve accuracy, and ultimately save time and cost. Getting the details right is about protecting design quality through to completion.”
